Where did we miss it?
I took a random look at the way young people migrate into old age, carrying the badge of suffering with little or no clue to why they are suffering so much. The reality bite deep yet many don’t care to cross examine their ways. The more I peep into the issue the more I realize that from the beginning it was not so.
There was a time when young men had their parents on their payroll; they care and support their aging fathers and mothers with the little in their hands. That was the era when the parents were happy and the young people were filled with joy, but today the situation is different. “The economy is hard in the city” is the new song in the mouth of many”. The more they say “things are hard” the more they lose even the little in their hand.
As their parents struggle to survive, the young people started seeing a reflection of suffering in their businesses and jobs, leading to multiple folds up and bankruptcy. We complained about the government but the foundation is faulty due to parental neglect. If the foundation be faulty what can the righteous do.
It is an error for you to be eating three or two square meal in a day while your parents are battling to make ends meet and fend for themselves. It is a big blunder for your parents to be owing house rent while you cruse on expensive trip and lavish money in a reckless abandon Some parents turned lack of food into fasting and you think you will enjoy overflowing favour because you know how to pray. God is a God of order. Cross examine your ways and start taking care of your parents and the elderly ones around you.
Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise; That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth. Ephesians 6:2-3
